Stamford Innovation Week to be Postponed due to Delta
Friends, This week, the Stamford Innovation Week team and committee made the tough but necessary decision to postpone SiW 2021 until next year. We are still planning some virtual sessions and smaller networking events for this year, and will be sending more information on those activities in the coming weeks. This decision was made in consideration of the current surge of COVID-19 cases driven by the Delta variant. The health, safety, and comfort of our attendees, speakers, and sponsors remains our greatest concern.
Here are answers to some questions that you may have:
If I already bought a ticket, what happens?
You should have already received an automatic refund for the full ticket price. If you purchased a ticket and do not see your refund as processed, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do you know you’ll be able to do the event in 2022?
Currently the CDC forecast estimates the rise of daily infection rates to increase through mid-September, but then decrease for the rest of the calendar year. It is impossible to say for sure what the future holds, but we are confident that the CDC estimates and public readiness will be sufficient for a compelling event in 2022.
How does this change impact speakers?
We have communicated this change to our speakers and already secured commitments from a vast majority of the speakers for virtual workshops, and other exciting virtual content.
